owned by the Harmar Coal Mine. In 1988 Donald and Molly Montgomery purchased the
building and moved their Bookstore from The Fox Chapel Plaza.
In 2000 The Hartwood Restaurant was born, and the incredible
Chefs Eddie Myers and Alyson Crispin came all the way from Hawaii ! Their
signature dishes and salads have won The Hartwood many prestigious awards. The
Hartwood specializes in Pacific Rim cuisine and the brilliant creations on the
menu change weekly.
